Helloooo you all,
Sorry for being absent from the blogging world all these years. Now I am back, hopefully in full swing.
So what happened these past few years. Chhavi (LO#1) and Viaan (LO#2) have grown of course. Chhavi is 11 now, and Viaan just turned 9. They are currently being homeschooled. So you may see a lot of posts pertaining to that hereon.
They also attend a lot of activity classes... Tabla, Bharatnatyam dance, Swimming, Sanskrit. So what I do is, whichever classes Chhavi goes to, Viaan also goes to and vice versa. That's the unanimous decision (meaning mine 😁)
- Promotes equality in the house. Some day in the future, they should not ask me, why wasn't I allowed to learn that skill.
- Both are learning new skills and who knows what they might like. So I have exposed them to multiple options.
- Currently they are young and have all the time in the world to explore. Later on, once they grow up and get a job, its difficult to invest time in other activities.
- Last but not the least, its convenient for me, to just be able to drop them to one place, rather than go to two different class locations. 😉
Achievements:
- Viaan has given two group programs (in his school annual day function) through his Bharatnatyam class. Chhavi and Viaan will both be performing in their respective groups this Navratri at a nearby temple. It will be Chhavi's first program.
- Both have received medals in swimming (bronze n silver). Exact list as of now is long. Henceforth Ill update every time they get a medal.
- Both are doing very well with their Sanskrit classes. Chhavi has finished three levels of exams for her category and she will be writing the last level exam soon in Feb 2026. Viaan will be writing his first level in Feb 2026.
- Chhavi will be giving her Tabla exam next year once she turns 12. We tried this year, but there was an age restriction.
Note:
Bharatnatyam classes are with Sanatana Natyalaya headed by Vidushi Sharada Manishekar under the guidance of Vidushi Srilatha Nagaraj.
Tabla classes are mentored by Shri. Gowrish Kamath.
Sanskrit classes are via Samskrita Bharathi, under the guidance of Smt. Sandhya bhagini.
Swimming classes - they are part of We One Aquatic Club. They learn under Mr. Sudeen Shetty and Mr. Lokaraj. Earlier Chhavi's teacher was Mr. Nishwin Lobo.
If anybody wants their contact details (to join their kids to the above classes), please contact me. Thanks.
